The Zagreb Times Sinke

The fall season is all about pumpkins, and the unique-looking veggie is everyone’s favorite company on plate. But it might take a special kind of plate to host the heaviest pumpkin in Europe, which was harvested in Croatia.

The gigantic vegetable weights impressive 660 kilos, and was recently awarded on festival in Tovarnik. The lucky owner is called Ivica Ribaric, and comes from village of  Kozarac in Croatia’s Baranja region. Although this area is known for fertile land, the specimen of this size is not common, and shows the skill of local agriculture.

The heaviest pumpkin in Europe will be on display for the time being in Croatian Capital of Zagreb. Feel free to check it out on the main square of Ban Josip Jelacic. Don’t mind taking a photo of yourself next to this exceptional vegetable and uploading it to our Facebook Wall. Who knows, maybe you’ll be featured on our site as well.
