The Istria Times Sinke

Ever since they met each other during studying in France, Lea and Adrian Calvert shared the common interest in boutique hotels. After their wedding in Croatian Town of Rovinj, the newlyweds have decided to pursue their dream and open their own business. This was the beginning of boutique hotel Melegran, a charming place on Istrian coast that is more than ready to fulfill all your accommodation needs.

Situated in an old house dating from late 19th century, the hotel went through space rearrangement and complex renovation. The final result is a cozy and inviting interior that will greatly contribute to your Rovinj enjoyments. Spreading on three floors and having an elegant bar on its premises, boutique hotel Melegran also includes a secluded studio apartment opposite its building. More rooms are planned to become a part of the brand in the close future.

“We always imagined our hotel as something different and original. Every room has been made with different approach in mind, yet each offers the vibe of home-away-from-home,” Lea explained to Croatia Times source, adding that architect Edita Geci was part of their team when arranging the interior as well as lighting expert Dean Skira. Zagreb-based firm called Fabular has also been involved with the project.

In addition to luxurious side, Boutique hotel Melegran has one charming feature. Every room has its own vintage typewriting machine. The item is fully functional and guests are free to write whatever they wish on the loaded paper. The messages left are usually expressions of gratitude to owners of the hotel, or guest’s own impressions of Rovinj.
