The Adriatic Times Sinke

Croatian Island of Rab provides many beautiful landscapes. However, below the waves surrounding its shores lays another kind of pristine beauty. The submerged kingdom that is full of life and accessible to humans only with help of scuba-diving gear. Mares Underwater Photo Marathon is an artistic event inspired by this quiet realm. Organized for the fourth time, this gathering of diving photographers always leads to some fantastic images.

Fifty five artists contributed to this edition of Mares Underwater Photo Marathon, arriving with their assistants from seven different countries. These competed in three different categories, covering the topics of fish, ambient and macro image.

The first place was awarded to Damir Zurub from local club Roniti se mora, while UWPM award went to Portuguese artist Nuno Gonclaves. Observe noteworthy images in our image gallery below.
