Pick Olives Next to Saint George Church
Did you ever partake in olive harvest? The experience can be quite thrilling, especially if being done in a gorgeous surroundings. People from Croatian settlements of Kastel Stari and Radun joined their wits and cleansed the groves from their fruits. It was a somewhat mystical experience, as the trees were located next to an old Church of Saint George (Crkva Svetog Jurja), tracing its foundation in the distant 9th century.
The olives are unique living beings whose lifespan can reach centuries of age. They greatly shaped the culinary background of Europe and Mediterranean, as their oils are among the most valued ingredients on every chef’s table.
