If you plan to visit Plitvice Lakes (and there are plenty of reasons to do so, since it is one of the most fascinating sites in Croatia), you should be aware of some novel rules regarding ticket purchase. The local authorities had to limit the number of visitors per hour, prompting an establishment of a new policy.
From now on, you can buy online tickets only two days in advance. For those who just woke up in the morning with the idea of visiting Plitvice Lakes, things won’t work that easily. The excursion should be planned ahead.
That being said, it is still possible to buy tickets at the site. However, there is no guarantee that they will be available. Buying online is the safest option and will guarantee your entry.
The policy of limited visitors per hour has been initialized to safeguard the surroundings and spare guests from crowds. It is a small price to pay for a truly amazing stay at one of world’s most renowned natural destinations.
Pets are still allowed, at least those that are put on the leash. Learn more about how to behave in Plitvice Lakes park here. The link also leads you to a ticket-purchasing options.
