The Adriatic Times Sinke

The world scuba divers witness every time they engage in their favorite activity is truly fascinating. Once you enter the submerged realm, it is literally a spiritual experience. Especially if you are on a pilgrimage, as divers visiting Croatian Town of Kraljevica are every year on Saint Nicholas feast day (December 6th).

The annual gathering of regional divers is an established tradition, as the popular saint is the patron of Kraljevica. This year, the underwater pilgrimage included installing a small statue of Nicholas, on the depth of 17 meters. You may search for it during your own dive, preferably in warmer months.

Kraljevica can be found in Bakarski Bay, close to Croatia’s City of Rijeka.  Check out our image gallery of underwater pilgrimage below.
