Donkey Races

As you probably know by now, donkeys are quite present on Croatian soil. The animals serve as means of transportation, and often assist their owners during hard work in fields. When not being in their usual stubborn mood, they show genuine intelligence, which can come in handy during an annual donkey race through streets of Lumbarda.

Sand statues

Every summer, hundreds of Lumbarda residents and their visitors swarm the local beaches with small shovels. They gather in order to participate in a special competition. Who will make the most original, unique and impressive statue made of sand? The youngest contestants can be only few years old, while others might even have an artistic education. But one thing is certain- for a limited time, beaches of Lumbarda look as a coastal theme park.

Vela Przina

And speaking of beaches, who could resist the sandy softness of Vela Przina? Lumbarda’s popular swimming place offers terrains for volleyball and picigin, in addition to clear sea and fascinating view of neighboring Island of Lastovo.
