It comes with its own business conference featuring renowned lecturers from the world of contemporary music production. If aspiring to join this industry, attending this year’s Labyrinth Open Music conference may be the best thing you’ll do for your career.

The music conference will be held on Friday the 13th of July from 12:30 until 17:00 on the food court at Labyrinth Open 2018. We will create a cozy setting for our visitors where they can connect with our interesting speakers, but most importantly can learn and experience.

“On stage with #INSTANTBONER & OWOW” – Gear insights, workshop & studio session

12:30 | The guys from #INSTANTBONER offer insights into modular systems, live sets and spontaneous creativity and link their gear with the MIDI Controllers of OWOW. They will set up a booth with their linked stage equipment and show the audience how their gear works and will answer all kinds of questions.

13:30 | After the Q&A with the audience, Marina Karamarko will join the music conference to do a studio session where she jams on the OWOW gear. Afterwards the audience can play with the OWOW Controllers themselves in an workshop that also will be given by Marina Karamarko.

“On stage with Marina Karamarko” – Music industry insights with a Q&A about her career

14:00 | Labyrinth Open Music Conference continues as Marina shares her 15 years of experience and gives the public insights about the music industry. The host will ask her questions in an interesting Q&A for about half an hour about her knowledge, path and career as a dj/producer. After that Marina will answer open questions from the audience regarding her career and the music industry.

“Backstage with Ugur Akkus” – Panel discussion and Q&A with prominent players in the industry

15:00 | Ugur Akkus talks about how he organizes so many different events, running a nightclub and being the owner of a booking agency. He will bring other prominent individuals from the industry; such as other managers, promoters and bookers to have an interesting panel discussion and Q&A with the audience.

“Controversial marketing with Wunderground” – Social media with a controversial twist

16:00 | Labyrinth Open Music Conference comes with something truly unique. Jake, Graham & Mikey from Wunderground talk about how and why they use satirical articles about the music industry and how this generates interaction on social media. They will specifically talk about humor, social media and their unique way of f.e. promoting parties. Afterwards the visitors of the music conference can compete by creating their own Wunderground-style article. Funniest one wins a special prize!

In addition to the music conference, there will be a cook-off on Wednesday the 11th of July for 10 lucky people who will be picked out on the festival site. Make sure to stand out so you have more chance of being chosen for this unique experience!

“Cook-off with Emanuel Satie” – Get to know the artist during a cozy lunch BBQ

13:00 | The cook-off includes a lunch BBQ on the food-corner that will start at 1PM. Emanuel Satie and one of our cooks will prepare Croatian dishes such as salads, fish & meat (local products) for 10 people who will be picked out on the first night and day of LABO18. These 10 lucky people will enjoy this unique experience and have dinner with Emanuel in an intimate setting. The BBQ will continue until 3pm so people can digest and get ready in a relaxed way for a night full of dancing.
