One of the world’s most influential architectural web portals has recognized Croatian talent. Archdaily has recently published their selection of best residences in 2018 and magnificent Issa Megaron has been included. Located on Croatian Island of Vis, this attractive villa is work of Davor Matekovic, Vedrana Jancic and their associate Bojana Benic. The structure was erected by local companies Proarh, Radinonica statike and Griza gradevinski obrt.
Archdaily is not the only expert source that underlined the value of Issa Megaron. The estate has already won the prestigious Architizer award in category Architeture+Landscape. The award ceremony will take place in fall 2019 in New York. The villa has also won Venetian award The Plan and first prize on World Architecture Festival in Singapore.
As an architectural piece, Issa Megaron questions locality borders and how estates of the kind exist in space that has limited communal infrastructure. As such, the classy residence is literally hidden, not obstructing the natural surroundings.
With Archdaily supporting Croatian architecture, more recognition is surely on the way. Be inspired to visit Island of Vis.
