Zganjer

When grandma Dora served her first cheese strudel to the guests in the early 70s, she never dreamed that centuries later, her granddaughter Lidija would leave breathless the most demanding of guests in their family restaurant Žganjer with that same recipe. Lidija runs the restaurant with her parents, and the kitchen is now in the hands of chef Krunoslav Đurin.

 

It is difficult to list all things that are local in their restaurant, from the granny’s strudel, bread, meat trays they make and dry in the smoke themselves, cheese and other dairy products they buy from the best family farms. It sounds unbelievable: although they are 150 km away from the island of Pag, here you can eat lamb which is better than in many restaurants from the very island.
