Trattoria rustica is probably the only restaurant that can pride itself for winning the Olympic medal. Those who don’t believe should ask Filip Ude, the athlete who has recently returned from the Olympic games in Beijing with a silver medal, where he went with a full stomach because this restaurant had sponsored his lunches for two years.
The restaurant is in the cellar of an Art Nouveau 1916 building. Its owner Nedeljko Vrbanić did all the renovation works himself. Nedeljko is not a mason, but a chef, but the interiors and the terrace are often short listed for being the most beautiful ones. The owner has ceded cooking to the current chef Matija Makar who prepares specialties from all around Croatia.
