Stara skola
Basic Info
Description
The story behind the restaurant Stara škola is probably the most emotional one that you can find in this guide. The building which served as community home in the mid 50s, and later as school is actually a space of 1500 square metres crowded with memories of one man – Goran Bradić.
When he was only three years old, his parents, both teachers, were employed by the school, and were granted a flat in the school premises. “I then lived the life of a humble boy”, recalls Bradić. Childhood memories are what made him buy the old school in 2004 and save it from decay. He turned one classroom into the kitchen, two were adapted to be dining areas, and one has become a small conference room. His menus are printed as school notebooks, and every child will get a colouring book as a gift.
Goran is the owner of the restaurant where one of the youngest chefs works. Zdravko Semenski is only 24 years old, and has started working three years ago.
