One of the most beloved celebrity chefs of Croatia, Ana Ugarkovic, returned to her original passion- running a restaurant. A small space in Zagreb’s Vlaska Street became a charming ‘little bar’ (the literal translation of ‘Mali Bar’), featuring an outdoor terrace and a few tables in the interior. Sometimes, it is difficult to find a free seat, but those who do, gladly return to Ana’s.
The whole concept is based on Croatian interpretation of traditional tapas bar. The offer consists of small dines, arranged in accordance of what the owner found that day on the marketplace. Visitors usually become fans of Mali Bar mini-hamburgers, pies, pate, polpette and spring roll snacks. For more concrete meals, one can order tuna steaks on duck confits. Ana cooks with style, and Mali Bar comes with a solid wine list, becoming a prime spot for evening going-outs.
