This is one of the oldest Osijek restaurants, in business during the World War II. It is located in the center of Donji grad, between the road, tram lines and old linden trees, and this very location named the restaurant – linden shades – Lipov hlad. It has changed owners throughout the years, even the name once, but linden stands proud even today.

 

There’s a real linden tree on the terrace, and a decorative linden tree inside the grill-pizza place. Good food has also rooted here, says the chef, Ivan Đukić. The offer is a bit different from the old stews, fish stews and offal soup, and is today based on barbecue dishes and pizzas. Also, you may order steaks, rolls, pork, turkey, chicken, fresh water fish and sea fish dishes. The offer fits all tastes, says the owner.
