Hvaranin

The old town area Varos originates many wonders of Split urban tradition. It has also been used as a central theme of many literary works. It is in this very Varos, just a few steps from the waterfront, that restaurant Hvaranin found its home, a place with great ideas and small interior. It is run by a father-son duo, Vinko and Vinko Radovani from Jelsa, Hvar, and it is visited by many who like the atmosphere of Dalmatia’s good old days. There’s no shimmer, there’s no glamour, if you don’t count great food. They prepare excellent risottos, white fish gregada, everybody speaks volumes of their pasticada, and some are there just to taste their tomato salsa. They make their own gnocchi, as well as their own bread.
