Djed

On the top of Emerald valley, with a view of the Una river is where you will find the restaurant Djed. In the cabin on the hill you will find steaks Kestenijada and Djed, their roll and chestnut trapped in dumpling and dipped in chocolate. Pleasant staff and the forever smiling chef Maja Dugač will also enchant you. Their specialties start and end with chestnut because this plant grows in the forests surrounding the town of Kostajnica and is present in all their main courses and desserts.

 

It is close enough to make it a great place for families with children who will come here for a walk in the forest, and still far away enough to let the imagination make everyone’s life so much more exciting, says the manager Jana Galeković. Autumn in Djed is always celebrated with chestnut festivities, winter by the magic of Christmas in the cabin, greeting the real Santa Clause with his deer, the spring with the green odour of old broadleaf trees, and the summer… by the very view of the forest and the river.
