You won’t regret it if you try their homemade noodles fish stew, from the old recipe of the Citadela restaurant founder, Mr Janoš Silard. One of his sons, Lazar Silard, runs the restaurant today within a bigger family farm business. He well confesses that fresh fish makes a good stew. “But, there’s a secret ingredient our father thought of, kept within the family, or taken to the grave.”
The restaurant offers other fresh water fish delicacies, such as grilled carp or frog legs, game meat, grilled dishes… Their restaurant offer of 34 years is mainly influenced by the vicinity of Kopački rit. Citadela is, like many other fine restaurants in Baranja, located right next to the main road, making a small village of Vrdarac a house hold name.
