Carpaccio

Located at the very centre of town, in a nicely decorated space with big windows overlooking the street, this ristorante is the only restaurant in Zagreb calling itself an authentic Italian restaurant. They even wrote names of meals on the menu in Italian language first. Vintage posters on the walls, glasses in vivid colours and tables make this space lively, and a good choice for a quick lunch. They offer all classics of the Italian cuisine, bruschettes, pasta, risotto and salad. Apart from fish and meat carpaccio, they offer vitello tonnato, minestrone di verdure, spaghetti aglio e olio, gnocchi peperoncino and saltimbocca alla romana. Yet, this is no modest trattoria. One look at the wine list will prove that. For aperitif you can take Nonino grappa, and if you wish to have a glass of good prosecco or even champaign to go with your meal, you have come just to the right place. Most Croatian, Italian and other wines are sold by the glass.
