Like Croatia Sinke

One of Croatia’s most notable bards, Marko Marulic, is regarded a father to nation’s literature. Even during his life, he was known as Marcus Marulus Spalatensis, the last word referring to his native town of Split. His works, usually inspired with Biblical stories and contemporary politics of his time, have put Croatia on the map of Europe’s culture in 15th century. You can visit a square dedicated to this influential individual in Split, as pictured above.
