Like Croatia Sinke

Having Italy as a naval neighbor, Croatia has developed a taste for pasta. This cooking category has a strong presence on country’s plates. Wherever you go, chances are that you will have an opportunity to try some spaghetti, gnocchi or- as in today’s Daily Recipe– tagliatelle with wine and dry plums. This tasty dish is easy to make, but looks impressive on table thanks to its lovely colors. Just put in some nice dishes and silverware. It will look as if your lunch is served in a prestigious restaurant.

What you will need:

4 cloves of garlic

1 carrot, peeled and chopped

300 g strained tomato

3 dcl dry red wine

400 g tagliatelle pasta (broad noodles)

50 ml olive oil

300 g beef (shoulder meat)

1 spoon of dry plums

50 g parmesan

1 teaspoon of thyme (fresh leafs)

½ teaspoon of grated lime skin

What you will do:

In a broad frying pan, heat some olive oil and insert the garlic. Wait until it becomes glass-like, and then add carrot. After a while, pour the strained tomato juice. Stir the mixture for a minute, pouring one half of the acquired wine inside. Continue to fry for another 15 minutes on medium flame. Don’t worry. You’ll eat tagliatelle with wine and dry plums in no time!

Add the second half of the wine you got, inserting dry plums on the way. In the meantime, cook tagliatelle according to the instructions provided on the box. Chop the meat on cube-like pieces should be fried in a separate pan, also on olive oil. Once they are done, add them to the mixture with plums, together with oil in which they were processed.

Once the pasta is nicely done, decant it and mix with the sauce. Grate the lemon skin on top and arrange the green leafs of thyme so that dishes look nice. Finally, cover everything with densely grated parmesan cheese.
