Croatia is in the finals of FIFA World Cup in Moscow. The whole globe talks about this small country’s team and their dedication on the field. The interest is evident in the online world as well. Web pages of Croatian Tourist Board (HTZ) reported 250% increase in traffic compared to the same time in the previous year. Most new visits come from Italy, United States, Russia, India, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Poland and Netherlands. This was confirmed by Kristijan Stanicic, the general director of Croatia’s Tourist Office.
A shoretened version of torusim promotional video, including members of Croatian soccer representation, has been recently made. Since upload, it has been accessed more than 250 000 times, with increase of 161% after Croatia reached finals. Meanwhile, images of HTZ Instagram profile have been observed more than one million times.
Indeed, one can say that Modric and his team are ambassadors of Croatia in every term possible-not just through sport.
