Croatian town of Opatija is the country’s original tourist resort. Being a locality where nobles of Austro-Hungarian Empire constructed numerous villas and luxurious havens, it still has that old European vibe and welcoming atmosphere. Spending a day on Opatija beach is a beautiful experience, as blue color of Adriatic has always provided the bathers with unique feeling of leisure and enjoyment. And who knows? If you like playing chess, and are lucky enough, you might come across Opatija’s honorary resident Gari Kasparov, who owns the house in Opatija.
