Croatia has a long military tradition, and tenders a lot of its old army customs and orders. On the photo above, you can see the cravat regiment of Zagreb, during their traditional walk through the city streets. The unit is of notable importance to history of Croatia, as it was responsible for spreading of the tie as a fashion accessory across the globe. Long before modern insignia, Croats would use neckties of different color to distinguish the rank of their army personnel. Wherever the nation sent its soldiers, ties would follow, soon switching their role and becoming a feature of civilian outfit.
