The coastal city of Zadar is over three thousand years old. It first appeared back in the 4th century B.C. as an Illyrian tribe settlement. Today, you can still visit monuments of Zadar’s historic past including the 1st century B.C. public square called the Forum (pictured above), the medieval Church of St. Donatus, 12th century St. Anastasia’s Cathedral, and the Church and Monastery of St. Mary from 1090, among many other attractions.
