Big Picture: The Fort of Kotisina
Imagine a lush green area with old stone fortifications scattered around its scenery! Seems like a lovely place, doesn’t it? Believe it or not, such sites exist in Croatia, one of them being Kotisina botanical garden, a part of Biokovo Nature Park. A rather small area features over 300 different plant species, and remains of an old castle dating from 17th century. There is also a small Church, constructed in 1901, as the founder of the garden was a Franciscan monk with huge interest in science.
