MAFEST: Comic Book Lovers Head for Makarska

Fans of graphic novels have a considerable reason to visit Dalmatia this May, as the MAFEST event comes in its jubilee 10^th edition. Authors from the region and far-away countries will arrive to Croatian city of Makarska, where they will share their experiences and impressions of working in this unique industry.

The festival will begin with an exhibition of Andrije Maurovic, one of Croatia’s most known graphic novelists. The featured illustrations were made in 1937, and were deemed lost until recently.

Special guests of honor include  Giuseppe Camuncoli (Italy), Jill Thompson (USA), Marica Inoue (Japan), Valentin Sécher (France),  Sonja Gašperov (Croatia), Rajko Milošević Gera (R. M. Guéra) (Serbia), Dražen Kovačević (Serbia), Robert Bob Solanović (Croatia)  and Turk (Belgium).
