Livade is a small village in Istria which came to world’s attention once it became a center for truffle cuisine. It all begun when Giancarlo Zigante, a Tartuffe expert, discovered the largest underground mushroom of its kind in 1999. Nicknamed “Millenium,” the gargantuan truffle weighted 1310 grams and managed to find its place in the Guinness book of world records. Since then, Livade has hosted numerous truffle events, presentations and festivals.
Giancarlo’s restaurant Zigante is also present in Livade. You can book your table by e-mail: email@example.com.
