The Kolan county is situated on the island of Pag and consists of several small villages. Every single one of them can provide the peace and tranquility one usually seeks from his or her vacation on the Adriatic. However, visitors interested in ancient history will be especially pleased, since the local Kolanjsko polje field features several wells constructed during the Roman period.
These wells were a part of the Roman aqueduct which led to Caska, and proves that water was clean even during their time. For untold generations, these wells were used by locals for cooking, cleaning and drinking, making Kolanjsko polje an outdoor history museum every visitor of Pag should see.
